Autism Speaks is pleased to announce the keynote speakers for its 2015 Autism Investment Conference – March 10 and 11 at the Boston Seaport.

Day 1 keynote speakers will include Eddie Martucci, co-founder and chief operating officer of Akili Interactive Labs and a principal at Puretech. Akili is a world leader in the development of therapeutic games for brain disorders including autism and attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder. Dr. Martucci completed his graduate work in structure-based drug design at Yale. He will also be among the panelists for the conference session on investment opportunities in autism gaming platforms.

Day 2 keynote speaker David Berry is a partner at Flagship Ventures, a venture capital firm with a focus on innovative therapeutics and healthcare technologies. He will share the company’s approach to creating and investing in companies and discuss his perspective on the opportunities for development of autism-related products and services. Prior to Flagship Ventures, Dr. Berry earned his MD from Harvard Medical School and his PhD from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He currently serves on the Leadership Council of the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network.

“The combined experience and perspective of these two healthcare technology innovators and industry pioneers will deliver tremendous value to the entrepreneurs and investors attending this year’s conference,” says Daniel Smith, president of Autism Speaks’ venture philanthropy affiliate DELSIA (Delivering Scientific Innovation for Autism LLC). Dr. Smith is also Autism Speaks’ senior director for discovery neuroscience research.

This year’s Autism Investment Conference will be followed by a half-day autism app and wearable technology “Pitch Playground” at the nearby Google campus, on March 12. Learn more about this opportunity here.
