On June 17, the the World Health Organization published the final wording of its resolution "Comprehensive and Coordinated Efforts for the Management of Autism Spectrum Disorders."
The resolution was adopted on May 30 by the executive board of the World Health Assembly, the governing body of the World Health Organization (WHO). The resolution was co-sponsored by more than 50 countries and supported by all members, including the U.S. The resolution is a formal commitment by these countries of the importance of addressing autism and other developmental disorders and sets out a clear set of actions to be undertaken to support individuals, families and communities affected by them.
