Autism Speaks is pleased to be a co-organizer of the second annual conference of the Irish Centre for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Research. Titled “Autism Spectrum Disorders: From Research to Practice,” the conference will take place June 11-12, at the National University of Ireland, in Galway.
It will include speakers and workshops providing practitioners, parents and researchers with the latest evidence-based approaches to diagnosis, therapy and adult services. Parent workshops will feature practical solutions for managing daily life in the home. Those for professionals will feature promising new approaches in healthcare and education.
The conference will also introduce the international research community to Ireland’s new autism database and repository initiative. NUI Galway, Trinity College Dublin and Autism Speaks are currently collaborating on its development. Its goals are to inform the development of clinical practice, service delivery and autism research in Ireland. All attendees – parents as well as professionals – are invited to help shape its development during a special conference session.
